Critic Review
Wine Spectator, James Laube
"Offers pure, rich, explosive fruit, with tiers of blackberry, wild berry, cherry and spice flavors, delivering touches of black licorice and cedary oak. Glides along with a touch of toasty oak and espresso, tightening on the finish. Drink now through 2027."

Deep plum in color, this wine is brooding with a fruit-driven nose of juicy blackberry pie, toasty oak, wet stone and black pepper. The palate exudes dark briary fruit. Structured tannins provide a robust mouth-feel with a wash of acidity, and hints of dark chocolate and tobacco.

Our “Bergfeld” St. Helena vineyard is 100% estate fruit, planted in light gravelly alluvial soils strewn across an ancient creek bed. The well-drained soils and warm growing conditions produce wines of immense power. The unique nature of this site ensures low vine vigor, small crops and intensely concentrated berries with balanced acidity.
