2014 WALT The Corners Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
Pinot Noir - The Corners Vineyard
"This exceptional Pinot Noir is sourced from a 35 acre ranch purchased by WALT in 2012 that overlooks the town of Booneville. The wine begins with aromatics of spicecake, black cherry, black truffle and cola. This leads to flavors of black cherry, black raspberry, cola, and hints of rose petals. The texture and fruit weight is really impressive, as this is irresistible right now."

"Another beauty is the 2014 Pinot Noir The Corner's, which comes from a site in the Anderson Valley in Sonoma. Aged ten months in 45% new French oak, this puppy sports a deep ruby color as well as tons of cassis, black raspberries, toasted spice and nicely integrated oak. Medium-bodied, concentrated and layered, it’s already hard to resist, yet I suspect it will keep nicely through 2024."
The Corners Pinot Noir displays warm aromatics of five spice, ripe blue fruit, and black cherry. Roasted stems bring a streamlined and focused quality to the mouthfeel. The palate is smooth with dark berry character, interlaced with warm, spicy barrel leading into a sweet, lingering finish.
This is a very unique vineyard from Anderson Valley, featuring steep hillsides combined with light gravelly soils that create optimal ripening conditions. The Corners is typically sourced from the upper elevation blocks, where small vines and berries produce a concentrated and opulent wine.
