2016 HALL Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon - Vineyard Partners
Critic Review
"Coming from a tiny appellation in the heart of Napa Valley, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Stag's Leap reveals a saturated purple/ruby color to go with a ripe, incredibly sexy bouquet of blueberries, blackcurrants, ripe tobacco, loamy earth, and dark chocolate. More spice and floral notes emerge with time in the glass, and it offers full-bodied richness and depth, sweet tannins, awesome purity of fruit, and a great finish. This is a brilliant Cabernet from Stags Leap that's already accessible yet will evolve for two decades."

"Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap District offers up expressive scents of baked black cherries, warm mulberries, cassis and wild blueberries with touches of garrigue, wild sage and tilled soil. Full-bodied, the palate has a firm structure of grainy tannins and lively freshness lifting the densely laden black fruits to a long, herb-lifted finish."

Medium purple in color, this wine has delicately perfumed notes of blackberry, sweet oak, baking spice and violets. The palate has opulent and silky dark fruit juxtaposed with a firm tannic grip. The luscious fruit on the palate reveals layers of acidity and minerality.

THE STAGS LEAP DISTRICT IS A PARTICULARLY unique appellation in the Napa Valley. It is bound on the east by the Stags Leap Palisades, on the west by rolling hills and the Napa River, on the north by the Yountville Cross Road, and on the south by flatlands. Distinctive soils and the dramatic marine influences of San Pablo Bay produce fruit that is well ripened yet still possessing a balancing vibrant acidity.
