2017 WALT Bob's Ranch Chardonnay
- Bob's Ranch Vineyard
"This limited production wine opens with bright aromas of ripe pear and shades of peat moss and nutmeg infused Challah Bread that all mingle on the nose. The palate is plush, showing a gorgeous texture. Deep lemon cream and sourdough bread with shades of clove all mingle brightly on the palate."

"The 2017 Chardonnay Bob's Ranch has a touch of haze in its gold color as well as notes of Caramelized lemons, pineapple, brioche, hazelnuts. It's rich, medium-bodied, has plenty of fruit and good overall freshness. It's a solid, outstanding Chardonnay to enjoy over the coming 4-5 years."

"Vibrant color with a green tinge, this wine displays complex aromas of orchard fruit, toasted hazelnut, lightly toasted grain, and freshly struck flint. The palate brings layers of bright fruit coupled with a creamy texture and beautiful vivid acidity. The Old Wente Field selection’s naturally low yields and unique cluster shape bring energy and concentration to the mid-palate. Perfectly balanced oak adds length and depth to the finish and tames the lively minerality that’s inherent to this special vineyard.
Bob’s Ranch Vineyard is characterized by its proximity to the Pacific Ocean. Coastal breezes along with low rolling hills and morning fog define this cool climate. This marine layer keeps the vineyard 15 degrees cooler than the rest of the Russian River. The terroir is mostly fine sandy loam soil that gives excellent drainage and leads to low vigor vines and small yields.
