"The high-elevation ‘Montagna Vineyards’ are located in Pritchard Hill on the south side of Lake Hennessey...On the nose this shows off black rose petals alongside black tea, exotic spices and shades of creme de cassis that all meld in the glass. The palate is dense, plush and highly refined with gobs of tension and mouth-watering acidity. A light dusting of salinity falls on the core of black and blue fruits with espresso bean and creme de violette all impress on the palate."

Lots of pure cassis and darker, almost blue fruits as well as iron, crushed stone, new leather, and chocolaty notes emerge from the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Montagna Vineyards, a powerful, concentrated, structured mountain Cabernet Sauvignon that has beautiful tannins as well as balance.
94 Points | Wine Spectator, James Molesworth
Another vividly fruited 2018, with a long beam of cassis, distilled plum and blackberry preserves driving through steadily, flanked by violet and sweet bay leaf notes and carried by a graphite edge on the finish.

The 2018 Montagna opens with expressive, harmonious aromas of red and black fruits with notes of cardamom and brown spice. This vintage is incredibly rich on the palate with flavors of plum, earth, and licorice interlaced with black currant and graphite. Well-structured and generous tannin resolves into a sleek and supple finish that is incredibly lengthy.
