Jeb Dunnuck
"Spicy red and black fruits, resinous herbs, sage, and baking spices all shine in the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder, a medium to full-bodied, pure, layered, complex style that has the vintage's upfront, perfumed profile. It's balanced, has sweet tannins, and a surprising amount of accessibility and charm for a Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon."

The 2022 Mount Veeder blend possesses an earth-driven, mountain character rich with aromas of bay laurel, forest loam and a hint of wild blackberry. The opulent concentration of the palate is shaped by well-integrated oak that resolves in a seamless and lengthy finish.

  • Bay Laurel
  • Wild Blackberry
  • Oak

Created by uplift from seismic activity and movement of tectonic plates some 12 million years ago, Mount Veeder is derived from ancient sea beds. These sedimentary soils are infused with the decayed remnants of the forests native to the area, which leads to a distinctively dark berry and exotic, wild mountain character. Because of the rugged, steep terrain of this mountain appellation, the yields are inherently miniscule, with tiny berries bursting with concentrated and densely tannic structures.
