The Wine Independent | Lisa Perrotti-Brown
The single-varietal 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Montagna Vineyard is deep garnet-purple colored. It gallops out with vibrant notes of crushed blackcurrants, fresh plums, and boysenberries, backed up by hints of Indian spices and camphor with a waft of violets. The full-bodied palate is jam packed with juicy black fruits, supported by fine-grained tannins and lovely freshness, finishing long and perfumed.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Montagna Vineyards is going to flirt with perfection at maturity, and it’s clearly up with the crème de la crème in this great vintage. Deep purple-hued, with a monster bouquet of ripe black fruits, chalky minerality, melted chocolate, and licorice, it builds beautifully on the palate and is full-bodied, has a concentrated, structured mouthfeel, and a great finish. This is classic Napa Valley Mountain Cabernet done brilliantly. Hide bottles for 4-5 years and enjoy over the following two decades.

"...Ripe boysenberry and espresso grounds combine with shades of asphalt and rocky soils on the nose. The palate is lithe and very fresh, with great viscosity. Dense dark fruits combine with the stony and salty profiles with firm tannins on the palate. Finishing very long, this is glorious Cabernet Sauvignon to consume now and over the next fifteen plus years."
94 Points | Robert Parker Wine Advocate, Joe Czerwinski
From a source high on Pritchard Hill, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Montagna Vineyards is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, fermented in a combination of concrete, stainless steel and oak, then matured in 100% new Taransaud barrels. It's full-bodied and rich, with pronounced, dark notes of coffee, cedar and chocolate framing cassis and plum fruit. At the risk of quibbling, it's a bit one-dimensionally dark and brooding, with a slightly coarse, dusty texture on the long finish.
93 Points | Wine Spectator, James Molesworth
"Ripe, well-built and approachable in feel, though no rush, with a round structure carrying a core of black currant, blackberry and black cherry preserves. Shows a solid licorice root spine, with a dusting of bittersweet cocoa on the finish."
