Owen Bargreen
"The 2021 BACA ‘I Spy’ Zinfandel comes from the Black Sears Vineyard which is located in Howell Mountain. This old vine site is located 1900 feet above Napa Valley. This shows beautiful red rose petals with wet stone, tobacco leaf and heady red fruits on the nose. The viscosity is terrific with concentrated wild blackberry and black cherry flavors that mingle well with loamy soils and suggestions of baking spices on the palate."

Toasted Herbs

This vintage expression reveals an enchanted combination of luscious blackberries intermingled with aromatic black pepper and wild mountain bay laurel. This is a savory, plush wine with some weight, and a finish that lingers with an impression of toasted herbs. It's like walking into a secret forest glade glistening with dewy moss.

Howell Mountain AVA

Look up. Way up. And you’ll see, on a lush hillside of native forest high above the fog line, a bowl-shaped vineyard carved into the mountain. Head trained and dry farmed with roots reaching deep into volcanic loam soil, these vines bear spectacularly beautiful fruit. The resulting wine is known for its dark, dense fruit laced with an enchanting floral perfume.
