It started with a berry.
Gutsy, Intense & Inspired. (Not unlike our wines.)
When we set out to create BACA, we had one mission in mind: to make luxury, craft Zinfandels that are nuanced, honest, and current. Wine for people like us: the curious, the adventuresome, the lovers of life, with a gleam in their eye and a penchant for the uncharted.
BACA is Latin for berry, so that’s where we started. Bounding headlong into some of California’s most noted growing regions—Russian River, Rockpile, Howell Mountain, and Paso Robles—we sourced the most intriguing Zinfandel grapes for our wines. Grapes from gorgeously old vines and historic areas, which we transformed using masterful winemaking techniques into wines that reflect the unique places in which they’re grown. The result is four complex, charismatic Zinfandels that pair beautifully well with both food and adventure.
BACA is the creation of next-gen trailblazers Director Jennifer Brown and Winemaker Alison Frichtl Hollister. Their respective entrepreneurial and artistic talents come through with every sip.
"Zin is old California and we are a young Californian winemaker and vintner. Our generation is searching for and attracted to history and that’s why we’re excited to make a variety that’s from here."
We’re always up for an adventure.
Here at BACA, we’re big on embracing the moment. On living fully and wonder-filled. We have a hunch you do, too. So sip some BACA, take in today, and try to solve our puzzle. It just may surprise you.
